I'm pregnant!

I found this news out on New Years Eve. There's no official due date yet. But I'm guessing late August/early September! My next doc appointment is on Thursday, so I will find out the due date then!

I'm about baby #2 arriving, but at the same time I'm really nervous.

Will I lose my sanity?

Will I still have time to crochet?

Will I have to close my Etsy shop?

Will I ever sleep again?

Sooooo many questions....

But I'm still here!!!

I've been so busy! With Chloe's birthday, Christmas, and Etsy!!! I'm hoping things will slow down a bit, but they probably won't.

The picture above is Chloe enjoying her first cupcake. She didn't eat much of it, but she enjoyed playing with.

I have reached my goal of 500 sales! Better yet I have reached my goal of 600 sales!! I currently have 625 sales! I reached my goal of 600 sales on December 5th. Woo hoo!!! I'm crochet hook is on fire!! I still haven't decided what my new sales goal should be... hmmmm.....

Chloe is walking now!! She's all over the place! She loves turning the computer and tv on and off, which is why I don't post very much. Maybe someday she won't think the button is very interesting... maybe....

I didn't put up my Christmas tree this year. With 2 cats, and Chloe getting into everything it's not worth it. I'm thinking maybe next year I will put it up. I have TONS of scrap yarn, so I was thinking of crocheting some ornaments. That way I don't have to worry about them breaking and cutting someone. Well see if I have time to make them before next Christmas!

I can't believe it. Chloe will be turning 1 next Saturday! My baby isn't a baby anymore. :( We're planning a mini birthday party for her. Just my parents, and maybe the grandparents. I've made her a lot of her birthday presents. I made her a turtle, beaver, fox, and raccoon. I also bought a plush deer on etsy a while ago. I'm making chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting. She's going to have an awesome birthday.

Well, my Etsy shop has really taken off this month. So far this month I've sold 60 items (pending payment for one item) But 38 of those items are from the wholesale order. I have about 10 more items to make and I will be doing with the wholesale order of 73 items! Phew!!

I'm up to 536 sales in my Etsy shop. I'm tempted to make another goal. With the holiday season fast approaching, I'm wondering if I can reach 600 sales by the end of the year. Hmmmm.....

Luckily Chloe is happy playing on the floor with her toys, and the cats. So I still have a little time during the day to crochet. She takes a hour and a half nap (sometimes 2 hours) in the afternoon. Plus she sleeps 8pm-8am almost every night. I'm so happy I have a baby that sleeps during the night.

Chloe is starting to stand on her own, and has even took one or two steps!! Wow!! She will be walking soon!!

As of 12:30pm yesterday, I have reached my 500 sales goal for the year!!!!

And I still have 2 and a half months left in the year!!

I will probably wait until the new year to set another goal.

Hmmm... What should it be? 600? 700?? Maybe 800??

In other news, Etsy is allowing you to change your shop name, only once. And after some thought I've decided to change my Etsy shop name. Don't worry it's nothing to drastic. I'm changing it to 72stitches, instead of seventytwostitches. I'm hoping that with this name change, it will be easier for people to find me, and remember me. We'll see how it goes!

I don't believe it!!! I received an email from one of my whole sale buyer and they wanted to make another order! And it's HUGE!!!! 73 items!!! I think I bit off more than I can chew. By the end of the weekend I will have completed 25 of the 73 items. I've been working on this order for about 2 weeks now. Wowwwie!

With that said, I will be able to reach my goal of 500 sales by the end of the year!! (As long as I can finish it before then!) I'm currently at 475 sales!!!! So far for the month of September I've sold 43 items! (13 of those items are for the wholesale order)

My Etsy shop has really taken off!!! I'm not sure if it's because I was featured in that magazine, or something else.

Either way, I'm not complaining! I'm so happy!!!!!

Here are some more pictures of Chloe! She is a very active little girl. Crawling all over the place, and even trying to pull herself up to stand! I have a feeling she will be walking soon!! Aaahhhh!!! There goes my crochet time. :(

Chloe is sleeping at night very well. Which is pretty awesome. She's even taking afternoon naps in her crib! Double awesome! I crochet while she naps.

She still doesn't have any teeth. I think she's more focused on getting around, and growing hair. But I think her teeth will come in soon.

Other news...

My Etsy shop is doing very well, considering I don't have a lot of time to work on it. I'm 3 sales away from 400!! Looks like I will have to make set another goal soon!

Chloe is growing, and growing fast! She's all over the place! She still does the army crawl. She can't quite crawl on all fours yet. She can go from laying on the floor on her tummy to sitting on her bottom! Wow! My baby is growing up! She will be 8 months old in a couple of weeks!

She loves green beans, bananas, peaches, pears, applesauce, and carrots. She hates peas. We had to mix them with applesauce before she would eat them. Peas and applesauce?? Sounds gross to me.

Her new favorite toy is Mr. Grinch. She got the toy from my mom for Christmas. I thought she would be scared of it. But she absolutely loves him.

My Etsy shop is doing well. I'm 16 sales away from 400!! Yippee!! Looks like I will hit that goal before the end of the year! Swweeet!!

Little story:

I found out I was pregnant with Chloe on March 17th, last year. So we decided to give her the nickname, Clover. And this dress was made for her! I was so happy it was warm that day so she could wear it!

My poor blog... I really should update this more often...

Well this winter is going by really fast. I'm ready for spring! I miss going out for walks. Once it gets warmer I can take Chloe out. That should be fun.

Chloe is doing great. She's sleeping through the night. We feed her at 7pm, put her to bed at 8pm. She sleeps until 10pm. Then I feed her. And then she sleeps until 6:30am. I put her to bed after I feed her at 6:30am, and she will sleep until 8am. It's so nice to be able to sleep for a solid 8 hours again. Sleep is good.

Once Chloe's feedings were on a schedule, I can now find time to crochet!!! I'm so happy I can crochet again!

Chloe is now 4 months old! I can't believe it!! She can hold her head up when you hold her. She doesn't like tummy time. She can old do it for about 5 minutes, then she gets upset. She is getting really good at grabbing things and then puts them in her mouth.

This morning Chloe has a doctor appointment. This means more shots. Ugh. I'm so glad my hubby can take some time off of work, so he can come with me. Today might be rough, or it might not.

My Etsy shop has slowed down a bit. Which is nice. It's giving me time to make things for Chloe. I made her a fox, and a raccoon. They are pretty awesome. I'm up to 340 sales. I do believe I will reach my goal of 400 sales by the end of the year!

Chloe turn 2 months old yesterday. She's growing up way to fast!

I'm starting to sleep better at night., and so is Chloe. I still have to feed her at 2am and 6am, but I'm getting used to it. Her feedings are on a schedule now, so I can find time to crochet in between her feedings. Which is awesome!

Chloe had her 2 month check-up today. She had to get 3 shots. Poor Chloe. She did cry, but now she's sleeping like a angel. She's up to 11 lbs, 8oz. She's getting so big!

Etsy update:

I re-opened my shop on January 1st. I was expecting it to be really slow, since the holiday season is over. Well I've already had a wholesale order! Yippee!

Also another one of my wholesale buyers contacted me and wanted to make another order! And it's huge!!! 25 bears and 10 ducks!! I'm not kidding!!! I'm going to be busy for a while! I hope it doesn't take me that long to finish it! I have 3 bears made so far!

I have some great news! I'm re-opening my etsy shop tomorrow! I'm so excited! I've missed etsy way to much! I'm a little bummed that I have to change my shipping policy for a few months. I'm only going to ship on Saturdays for a while. I don't want to take Chloe out in the cold, snowy weather. So I will make my post office runs when the hubby is home. I really hope this won't hurt my sales. But once the weather is nice, I will be shipping Monday-Friday again. I will strap Chloe in the stroller and off we will go!

My goal for 2011 is to reach 400 sales. I'm currently at 257. I need about 12 sales per month to reach my goal. We'll see if I can do it.

I wonder if I will get any sales on the first day I re-open? We'll see!

Had a doctor appointment this morning. Chloe and I are doing great! I haven't started dilating yet. Sorry TMI. It looks like Chloe might be coming late... ~sigh~ I don't like playing the waiting game...

Baby Update!

So I just wanted to let everyone know, Baby Chloe is still in my belly. I'm 38 weeks along! I'm starting to feel so uncomfortable. I'm finding it harder to sleep at night. But I try to get a nap in everyday, so that helps. I have 12 days until my due date! I'm considered to full term, so I could have this baby any day now. But we will see. I have a feeling she might come late. I'm hoping they will induce me about a week after my due date and not 2 weeks, but we will see. I really hope she's not born on Halloween. I'm not sure why this bothers me so much... I just don't want a Halloween baby. But if that's when she wants to come... then I guess I will deal with it.

It's been really weird not having my Etsy shop open. But I've been making items for my shop! So when I re-open I will have items to add!! I really miss Etsy. I can't wait to re-open and see what my future brings.

Well that's all for now. I'm starving!! I'm off to cook dinner! It's taco night! Yum!!

I've been feeling pretty good lately. I'm finding it harder to move around, sit down, and get up. I'm also finding it harder to sleep. I use about 6 pillows at night, but I'm still not comfortable. I usually wake up every 2-3 hours having to roll over. I guess I'm preparing myself for the midnight feedings! But other than that it's been a easy pregnancy. I'm hoping for a easy labor and delivery too!! Wish me luck!!

I'm 36 weeks along. Only 4-ish weeks to go!!!

I now have to go see the doctor once a week until Chloe arrives!

Eeekkk!!! Time is going by way too fast!! I have my last ultrasound tomorrow!!!

I can't believe it's October already. Man, does time fly by fast. Things have been going great for me. I'm feeling good, at 34 weeks pregnant. Baby Chloe is going great, and enjoying playing with my bladder and kicking my ribs. Her room is all set up. I need to do a little bit of cleaning/organizing before I can take some pics. But don't worry. I will post pics real soon!!

I can't believe that Chloe will be here in about 6 weeks. It's crazy... and I'm starting to freak out. I'm so nervous... Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. Even after taking the baby classes, getting her room set up, getting the hospital bag ready, and washing all of her clothes it doesn't seem real. I hope once I see her and hold her for the first time my fears will melt away. But right now, I don't feel like I can do this. I'm so scared. But I have a wonderful family and friends that will help me along the way. I just hope I'm ready for this adventure!

With that said, I'm sorry to say that I will be closing up my Etsy shop on October 16th. I will be putting my shop on vacation mode for a few months. I'm really not sure when I will be back. I'm thinking January, maybe earlier, but we will see. It breaks my heart that I will be away for that long. It's going to be so hard coming back. I won't be able to put in 110% in my Etsy shop with a little one. My crochet time will probably be cut in half. But I'm not giving up! When I come back I will have to learn to be patient. These last few months have been really good for my Etsy shop. When I come back I will have to give myself a really low goal. Like one sale a month. And work my way from there.

So for all of you out there, Get your Halloween and Christmas gifts early! My Etsy shop will be closing on October 16th!! And I'm doing free worldwide shipping until then!!!

It's all thanks to a wholesale buyer in California! She's place 4 orders so far. With about 12-14 items each! Yippee!!! My items are selling like crazy in her store, and that is AWESOME!

Other good news:

I'm working on another wholesale order! This is from a new wholesale buyer. She has a store in Oklahoma! She has order 24 of my bears! HOLY SMOKES! I started working on the order on Tuesday. I have 5 bears done so far! 19 bears to go!!!

So I've been pretty busy lately!!

The reason for the blog slacking is my Etsy shop has been really busy this July. I had 2 wholesales orders to California. (A total of 23 items) A lady placed an wholesale order and the end of June, and about a week and a half later she placed another wholesale order! WOW!!

So far I've sold 37 items this month! My hands have been really busy!!! WAHOO!!

We were planing on going to the Planetarium last time we were in Chicago, but we didn't have enough time. We are definitely planning on going this time!

I'm hoping the weather is nice, but I've heard it's going to be really hot and humid. I'm hoping the weatherman is wrong. Please mother nature, I want nice spring like weather. Sunny, highs around 70's would be nice. No rain, and no thunderstorms. I would really appreciate it!

I made this little guy on Friday. I loved him so much, that I wanted to keep it for myself! So I did. After I made this bear, I spent the weekend making 3 more! I will be adding more colors in the future!

Hubby's Summer Project

So we have lived in this house for 3 years now. Yet it feels like we moved in last year. When we bought the house, Justin (my hubby) wanted to re build the deck himself. I was cool with it. But as the years rolled on I thought he would never do it. But he has bought the materials and got started this weekend!!! I'm not sure how long it's going to take him, but I've giving him the whole summer to work on it. He will probably do most of the project himself, and I believe it's going to be a pretty awesome deck when it's done.

I will be posting his progress throughout the summer, so stay tuned!!!

Pregnancy Update...

This pregnancy is going by faster than I thought!! Baby and I are going great. I had a doctor appointment yesterday and everything looks good! Baby's heartbeat is nice and strong. I'm 16 weeks along, and last week I started feeling a light fluttering sensation in my belly. It's an awesome feeling.

My next doctor appointment is June 21st. I'm getting another ultrasound and I can find out if baby is a boy or a girl!! (If the baby cooperates!) I think baby is a boy, and my hubby thinks it's a girl. What do you think? Boy or Girl? Take my poll! I can't wait to find out!!!

Here is baby at 12 weeks.

I had an appointment on Tuesday morning. My hubby went with me. We got to hear the baby heart beat, and I had my first ultrasound. Baby and I are doing great! It was truly an amazing moment seeing the baby for the first time, and hearing the baby's heartbeat.

It was a wonderful day.

Knitting....

I've been knitting some dishcloths for my mother in law for her mothers day gift. I'm making a set of 7. I have one down... 6 more to go. I hope I can finish them in time!

Now my dishcloths aren't really fancy. It looks more like a really large gauge swatch. I cast on 35 stitches, and purl every row, for 62 or 64 rows. Using size 6 knitting needles. That's it. It's pretty simple. I've only mastered the purl stitch. Someday I will figure out that darn knit stitch!

Here is the first dishcloth! I finished it in about 2 days.

So I'm attempting to grow more flowers this year. Last year I grew three different flowers 2 out of the 3 bloomed. I was thrilled. So I'm going to try it again! I planted them earlier, or shall I say on time according to the package. Last year I planted them a little late, and I think that's why I didn't get any flowers on the third pot.

Here's what I planted:

After I bought the seeds I noticed that one of them was a vine plant. Oops. I guess once that plants starts growing I will have to move it towards the fence. Note to self: read the package, and not look at the pretty picture.

I will update when I see green sprout lings!!

Currnet Project for baby...

So here's what I've been working on. It's a cute mobile for baby! This pattern can be found in the latest issue of Crochet Today magazine!

I'm changing the pattern a little bit. I'm separating the sun and the cloud. I put a some eyes and a cute little smile. All I have left to make is the rain drops. I'm hoping I can finish it up this week. I'm thinking about hanging it on the wall, instead of hanging it above the crib. I will post pics when I'm done!

Last week was a little rough. I didn't have internet most of the week, and I was going insane. I still don't have much energy. All I seem to do is eat and sleep. I really just wanted to watch tv, and veg. But thankfully, my iPod saved me! So I caught up on my Planet Money, This American Life, and News podcasts. Thank you iPod!!

I'm also working on a mother's day gift for my mother in law. I'm going to knit some dishcloths for her. I better get busy! I only have a couple weeks left! My plan is to make a set of 7. We'll see if I can get them done!

I've also got a early start on my gardening. I planted some flowers in some Terra cotta pots. I will post pics soon! I'm thinking I planted to early, we've had a couple of nights of frost warnings. But lucky, I can easily move the pots in the garage. I had lots of fun planting flowers last year, so I decided to do it again. Maybe someday, I will be able to plant veggies! I'm starting small...

Keyboard, Baby names, and Fur babies

The "_" key on our keyboard is broken. I thought it wouldn't be so bad until I wanted to type these words: e_ctied, e_hausted, and ne_t. Just to name a few. I thought it was a strange key on the keyboard to go out first. Until I found out that there is a short cut for "cut". You push control and the "_" key. Hmmm.... I never knew that. And this is something that Justin did a lot when he works on his computer programming projects. Justin ordered a new keyboard last week. I'm hoping to get the new keyboard sometime this week.

I've been thinking a lot about baby names the past couple of weeks. I have a girl name picked out, but I'm having a hard time finding a boy name. But I have lots of time to figure it out. The girl name I have picked out is Chloe. I'm not sure on the middle name yet. I'm going to check out a few baby name books at my library. I hope that will help.

The pregnancy is going pretty good so far. I'm now at 10 weeks. I've been really lucky about not having the "morning sickness" Yes, I did get nauseous a few weeks ago. But no throwing up for me! The only thing I've been craving is ice cream. I wonder what I will be craving ne_t. (darn keyboard) So 10 more weeks I can find out if I'm having a boy or a girl!! I can't wait! Justin is coming to my ne_t doc appointment, we might get to hear the babies heartbeat. There will probably be lots of tears during that appointment. Tear of joy, of course.

And to end this blog post... my fur babies.

Ruby made herself a bed in my dish drainer, on top of the refrigerator. Darn cat.

I've had so much on my mind lately, that I can't focus on anything. I haven't really crocheted anything in weeks, and that bother me. I'm so close to 100 sales in my Etsy shop!! Don't worry, I'm not giving up! I'm just taking a little break. I blame it on the pregnancy brain...and the hormones.

Speaking of which, I'm 9 weeks along, and my due date is November 9th!

After the many pregnancy tests, blood test, and telling my family and friends. I'm still having a hard time believing it's true.

I'm hoping for a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable pregnancy! If there is such a thing. ;)

My hubby and I are really happy and excited! And so nervous too! I hope I'm a good mommy!

First Wholesale Order!

I made my first wholesale order last night. I can't believe it. This week has been awesome for my Etsy shop. Things are looking up! All of the items were rattles. These items are going to be sold in a small children boutique store in Davenport, Washington! I hope they sell!

I'm also really close to 100 sales in my Etsy shop! 13 sales from 100! I'm hoping to hit 100 sales by the end of this month, maybe by the end of next month.

I still can't believe it... Someone bought SEVEN of my items this morning. This is my first large order. I'm searching for a box big enough to put all those items in! I've never had that problem before. With all the sales I've been having lately, my shop is starting to feel empty. But I'm not complaining!

In other Etsy news. About a month ago someone contacted me about a wholesale order. I gave her my price. And I never heard from her again. I was a little upset. But I totally forgot about it. Then I get a etsy convo from her last night. She still wants to purchase her order! This made my day. I changed the listings for her, and now I'm just waiting for the payment. I'm so excited! She is going to sell my items in her children boutique shop in Washington! Thanks is so freakin' awesome. I'm crossing my fingers that I get the payment.

Okay, enough with the Etsy stuff.

My life has been pretty good so far. Not having a part-time/full time job is awesome. I'm so glad I made the decision to quit. I don't regret it one bit. My Etsy shop has been keeping me busy. I lasted a whole winter without going completely insane. Which is really good.

I started my diet about a month ago and it's going well. I'm counting calories, fat, carbs, fiber, sugar and protein. I'm trying to eat around 1,300-1,500 calories a day. So far so good. I've got to the point where I'm not hungry all the time. It was a little rough in the beginning. Once I started looking at the actually serving size for lots of food, I realized I was eating the serving size times 2. Ouch. Not good at all. I'm eating more fruits and veggies than I used to, and trying to stay away from the processed junk. But I really love potato chips! My biggest weakness! I've lost about 8 pounds so far, and I'm feeling great. I've been trying to exercise more. Thanks to mother nature for all the snow we got this winter. Shoveling snow is a great workout! I still play wii fit for about a hour. And now that's it's getting nice out, I've been taking 30 minute walks. I want to go out and try on some clothes to see if I've actually gotten smaller. I don't feel skinny. But my sweatpants are really baggy! That must be a good sign, right?

I had a dentist appointment this morning. It's been way to long since I've been to the dentist... I'm to ashamed to admit how long it's been. But I brush twice a day and floss once a day. I was afraid I would have 20+ cavities...

So the cavity count is..... 0!!!

I can't believe it! No cavities!! None at all!! My hubby didn't have any either!!

Hooray for no cavities!! :)

To celebrate, my hubby took me out to lunch! I had the best turkey sandwich ever.

My yarn came in the mail today! I'm so happy! I can now make another sea foam green elephant! Hooray!

I also sold another gray elephant yesterday! Wahoo! It's going to Florida!

Today has been an awesome day. :)

DTDL Crafters

So I've been going to this small (but growing) group of crafters for about 2 months now. At first I was I little hesitate to go back. There was only 2 people there, and I felt like the third wheel. I felt a little uncomfortable. But I went again, and it's wasn't so bad. I'm a really shy person and it's hard for me to meet new people. But each time I go, I feel more comfortable talking with the people there. I'm not giving them my life's story yet, but it's nice to talk with people that love yarn, crocheting/knitting as much as I do. It just isn't the same as talking with the hubby about it.

There is one person that blows my mind away. She started coming a couple of weeks ago. She's done some knitting, but she loves to crochet. And she is blind. I'm simply amazed. I can't believe it. I'm just in awe every time she comes in.

I'm so glad that I made myself go to this. And thanks to my hubby for telling me to go! Everyone is so nice, and I can learn a lot from these amazing women!

The past couple of weeks the group has grown. Started out with 3, then 6, then 12! I'm really surprised seeing new faces! I wonder if any new people will show up today?

With that said, today is the DTDL Crafters meeting! 3pm-4pm!

Here's what I want to make next:

I know how to purl, and knit. Well, I'm better at the purl stitch. But anyway, I would love to try a cable stitch. These hand warmers you knit on straight needles. Which is good because I still can't figure out how to use the circular needles, or the double pointed needles. There's no increase or decreasing (I don't know how to do that either.) I just need to find time to practice!

So I thought this would be a good project to start out with. I still need a knitting teacher, or a really good book.

Anyone know of a good "Learn how to Knit" book?

I haven't sold anything in about 3 weeks. I'm getting a little worried. I know my stuff is awesome, but why isn't anyone buying it? I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my shop. Not enough items? Bad photos? Prices to high? I've been adding new items/renewing almost everyday. What's the deal? This is the longest dry spell I've ever had. I'm trying to stay positive and keep my head above water, but I'm sinking....

But I'm not giving up.
